Welcome to the RE pages of the Devon Education Services website! This is a particularly important time for RE in Devon with a new syllabus (rooted in the national RE framework) due in schools shortly. As well as the new syllabus we are also developing new schemes of work with an emphasis on key learning outcomes and learning activities to support kinaesthetic, oral and visual learners. Here you will also find

  • guidance on evaluating RE, supporting RE with SEN learners,
  • examples of pupils' work and key information about the work of Devon SACRE.

Graham Langtree is the Devon Education Services Adviser for RE. Prior to joining Devon Education Services Graham was adviser for RE at QCA and was the author of the national, non-statutory framework for RE. Graham's particular interests in RE are the critical contribution of the subject to pupils spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, different learning ideas in RE and enthusing non-specialist teachers.I
