Schools can purchase consultant support to develop the teaching and learning of literacy. Increasingly the team is working in schools who have bought in our support to raise standards in literacy. Schools identify the focus for development and the type of support package they require – we are flexible and can support a wide range of requests to schools both in the local LEA and beyond. We welcome requests from both state and privately funded schools.
Focus of support could include:
- literacy audit
- writing of action plans
- reading/ writing scrutiny
- curricular target setting
- assessment – formative and summative eg. assessment systems; pupil interviews
- pupil tracking
- SATs (could include marking, moderation, analysis)
- parental involvement/ workshops
- planning
- visual literacy
- ICT and literacy
- a rerun of any of our courses for the whole staff
How we work with you in school is really your choice; we can work alongside the Literacy Coordinator, SMT, a key stage team, individual teachers or with the whole school. This support can then be tailored to meet your needs in the form of:
- inset days
- staff meetings
- cluster meetings (useful for small schools to share costs and collaboratively develop an aspect of literacy)
- parents workshops
- Governors meetings
The costings for dcs consultant support are as follows:
- Up to 1.5 hours - £155
- 1.5 – 3 hours - £270
- 3 – 4.5 hours - £373
- 4.5 hours plus - £464
If the support requires an additional amount of planning or resources, this will be factored into the total costing and will be brokered with you at the point of request.
Our high quality support is based upon our consultants being experienced, enthusiastic and at the forefront of national and local initiatives. Schools who have already accessed this support have consistently given positive feedback.
