Literacy Conference - using ICT creatively in literacy.  This day will be led by Tim Rylands who has worked with many schools, both teachers and children, to improve literacy using the tools of ICT.  A significant part of the day will focus on how to use computer games to support children's writing. Teaching handwriting from reception to yr6 - 17th May Sandy Park
Talk for Writing - this is a repeat of the courses we have been running for the last two terms.  It is Strategy funded for two days training and one day's supply to use between the two days of training. If you would like more teachers in your school to attend the training schools with fewer than 150 pupils can send 1 more teacher and those with more than 150 pupils can send 2 more teachers. 21st April and 20th May Sandy Park, 5th May and 17th June Tiverton Hotel, 10th June and 14th July Buckfast and 16th June and 7th July Barnstaple Hotel.
APP Moderation Meetings - During 2010 schools have 6 Strategy funded places for any moderation meetings in Maths, Reading or Writing.  This means that if two teachers attended the writing or moderation meetings in the spring term you have four places remaining. Mucking around with sentences - a very popular course that looks at sentence level (grammar) subject knowledge for teachers.  Tiverton Hotel 9th June See the flyer here.
Letters and Sounds - this training is for those teachers or teaching assistants who are new to Letters and Sounds.  The day will give you a sound overview of the programme in term of structure, pace and pedagogy. Sandy Park 29th June
